Final Fantasy VIII

She might wake up with a kiss from the prince.
Quote by: Quistis, Suggesting a way for Squall to revive Rinoa

Alexander

Alexander is one of the GF's that you can obtain by drawing it from an enemy. Alexander is also gained while fighting an important Boss during Battle of the Gardens in Galbadia Garden: Sorceress Edea. It is stated in-game that long-term Junctioning of Guardian Forces causes memory loss to the user, because the GF draw power from the same section of the mind that stores memories, so using them is not without risks. I'm not sure how to describe Alexander, he looks kinda like an enormous machine, but he looks, and is, strong, so a good addition to your GF inventory.

Alexander uses a Holy elemental based attack, which is extremely effective against undead enemies or enemies that are inflicted with the Zombie status. Or of course, any enemy that has a weakness to Holy magic.

Location

During the Battle of the Gardens Mission, you'll enter Galbadia Garden. After the battle with Seifer, the final battle with Sorceress Edea is waiting for you. During this battle with her, you can draw Alexander from her. If you did miss Alexander here, there's a second opportunity to draw Alexander. That is in Ultimecia's Castle, from the Boss Catoblepas on disc 4.

Alexander's Attack: Holy Judgement

Alexander's attack is Holy elemental based and it's extremely effective against undead enemies or enemies that are inflicted with the Zombie status. In the beginning, the attack isn't very powerful, but if you take time to build up Alexander (which you'll automatically will if you keep him Junctioned to one of your characters), you can make good use of its attack by Junctioning Zombie magic to a character's weapon using the Status Attack Junctioning ability. Basically, this enables you to force an elemental weakness onto an enemy. After he appears, he'll stand strong on the ground, preparing to fire Holy rockets out of the huge shoulders, as shown below. These will fire upon the enemy.

Useful Abilities

The Med LV Up ability may not seem like much, but you'll probably need it for the UFO Side Quest and to use the Solomon Ring. Alexander's Revive ability is awesome during later parts of the game, for example during the fight with Ultima Weapon. It appears on the main Battle Command Window. The ability will enable you to quickly revive and cure a KO'd character. The Elem-Def-Jx4 is also a great ability, but it may take you a while to get it. I suggest putting it off until you've earned the 200 AP necessary to learn the Revive ability. Or pay a visit to the Kashkabald Desert to fight Cactuars, who'll give you 20 AP each upon defeat.

History

Alexander (アレクサンダー Arekusandā) is a Summon that appears in various games in the Final Fantasy games. Its attack Holy Judgment, sometimes just called Judgment or Justice, deals holy-based damage to all enemies. "Alexander" is a common western name of Greek origin, the original name being λέξανδρος (Alexandros), "Protector of Men", an adequate reference to the Summon's Holy elemental nature.
