Final Fantasy VIII

But now... Squall, you're the one who gives me the most comfort. Comfort and happiness... And annoyance and disappointment, too!
Quote by: Rinoa

Quezacotl

Quezacotl is your first Guardian Force, together with Shiva. So if you're new to the game or playing it for the first time, it's one of the GF's that will help you understanding the Junction System. It is stated in-game that long-term Junctioning of Guardian Forces causes memory loss to the user, because the GF draw power from the same section of the mind that stores memories, so using them is not without risks. I think it's a very nice GF, you may not see it in the picture, but it looks flashing and the dark green stripes on the light-green skin looks just wonderful.

Quezacotl is very useful against machines or any other enemy who's weakness is thunder, since Quezacotl deals thunder based damage.

Location

By accessing Squall's study panel from his desk in the classroom at Balamb Garden, you can gain two new GF's. Select the Tutorial option and Quezacotl will automatically be added to your GF inventory, along with Shiva.

Quezacotl's Attack: Thunder Storm

Thunder Storm is an Thunder elementary based attack, where it'll create a big ball of lightning is thrown onto the enemy.

Useful Abilities

One of his best abilities is the Card Mod. This ability enables you to refine items from Cards, and makes it much easier to upgrade weapons and to teach Quistis new types of Blue Magic. The Card command ability is also useful at the beginning of the game. Your starting deck is fairly weak, but the Card ability will enable you immediately add some powerful Cards to your deck by changing enemies into cards. T Mag-RF allows you to refine Thunder and Wind magic from any items you find. You might also find Mid Mag-RF a nice ability, which will you change low level spells into mid-level spells.

History

Quezacotl (ケッツクアトル, Kettsukuatoru) is a recurring summon in the Final Fantasy series. Its appearance has changed greatly since its first appearance in the relatively late Final Fantasy VIII as Quezacotl (ケツァクウァトル, Ketsakuwatoru). This aside, Quetzalcoatl always appears as a Lightning-based Summon, and as a winged creature of some sort. Quetzalcoatl is one of the major deities in ancient Mesoamerican mythology. Quetzalcōhuātl means in the Nahuatl language "feathered serpent". Due to the many civilizations worshiping the same deity using different names for it in the span of almost 2,000 years, the exact attributes and significance of this god varies. Most stories, though, agree upon Quetzalcoatl being the god of the morning star and being known as the inventor of books, the calendar and the giver of maize to mankind. The worship of Quetzalcoatl was, in some religions, connected with human sacrifices, while in others, opposed to human sacrifices.
