The Centra Ruins: Getting the Guardian Force Odin

Go to the Centra Plains and you'll see a large tower. This is the home of the Guardian Force Odin. In the tower are a lot of dangerous enemies and a big challenging puzzle. When you enter, Odin will tell you that he'll grant his power to anyone who can climb the tower, solve the puzzle and defeat him less than 20 minutes. It isn't easy, but it can certainly be done! On this page, we're gonna tell you how!

Odin isn't a normal Guardian Force, you cannot summon him, he'll act on his own and comes out at the start of the battle when he chooses to do so. When he does come, he'll destroy all enemies completely. Don't count on him during Boss Battles though!

Preparing for the Tower

The most dangerous enemies inside the tower are Tomberry's and Forbiddens. Both are capable of one-hit kills, and their normal attacks are also really powerful. Tonberry's also have a big amount of HP, so it can take several minutes before you've defeated one of these. Since you have only 20 minutes to complete this quest, you cannot afford this. The best way to get through the Tower is using Diablos' No Encounters (Enc-None) ability, to make sure you won't be bothered by any other enemies. You can also run from all of the battles, but it might lower your SeeD rank. So if you're going for this quest, why not make sure you got the Enc-None ability first! Also, make sure you have the Mug ability at your disposal.

Solving the Tower's Puzzle

The first part is easy, just follow the path and the staircases until you reach an altar, which is actually an elevator. When you get off the elevator, you'll find two ladders. The ladder on the right leads to an Aero Draw Point, but the other leads to a room full of machinery. Climb the left ladder and flip the switch inside the room. Now go back down the ladder.

The altar in front of the elevator is now lit. Examine it, and a staircase will appear on the right of you. Of course, go up the stairs. There's a large demon statue with one red eye on the next level. Climb the short ladder on the left and take the eye out of the statue's eye. Then climb up the right stairs to the top of the tower. Now go to the left and climb the side of the dome to find a second demon statue with a red eye. Place the left eye in the statue and a code appears. Remember, or write down, the code and take both eyes out. Now go down the stairs to the first demon statue and insert both eyes. Remember the code you got? Enter the code using the directional button to open a door below. Behind it, you'll find Odin waiting for you!

Odin: The Battle

Actually, the only tough thing about this battle is the fact that you have a time limit to worry about and his high HP. Odin will not attack the party, so all you have to do is dealing as much damage as possible within the remaining time. Odin also carries the spell Triple, which you can draw from him to cast three spells in one turn. You can also stock some, as they are great to Junction, as long as you've got some spare time. Also, make sure you steal the Luck-J Scroll, which will teach a GF the Luck Juction ability. Don't use GF's, as they'll waste a lot of time. Odin has a high magic defence, so GF's suffer from this defence too. Cast Haste on your characters to have more rounds of attack, especially if you're running low on time. Odin has a lot of HP, but it's not as much as you might expect. After winning the battle, you will receive Odin's Card, 20 AP and Odin will assist you randomly during your battles.
